The Green Monstah Smoothie

Back in March, I ran an Instagram poll to determine what I should name this green smoothie. The winner was the Green Monstah. I'm originally from Boston, so I was into it. The other name suggestions were hilarious, ranging from the Lean Mean Green Machine, the Kiwi Crusher, the Green Giant, and more. The Lean Mean Green Machine was the funniest suggestion but I didn't feel like typing that out repeatedly. As you know, I am a college student with limited resources (i.e. no car, no fancy blender, etc.) so smoothies are a rare treat. I picked up a bunch of veggies a few weeks ago to test out different green smoothies because I had a certain flavor in mind that I did not know how to create. At home, there is a restaurant called Soul Bean that makes the BEST green juices and smoothies. I usually add in wheatgrass and lemon to mine for a little kick. However, you won't need any wheatgrass or anything fancy for the smoothie I am about to describe. I toyed around with proportions to get it just right, but feel free to add or subtract any ingredients you would like. My favorite part of this smoothie is the celery, but if you're not into celery, I would recommend cutting down on the amount. It has quite a strong flavor. Let me know what you think. I am debating whether I should start a "Smoothies" tab on this site because I have a commute this summer. I have a feeling I will be making smoothies quite often to enjoy breakfast on the go. Also, don't forget to follow me on Instagram for more intimate pics of food. Trust me, you won't regret it. Maybe you'll catch my next poll - you could be the next smoothie-namer! How exciting!
